Its
back! Super Slot Car Night is a go for the night before
the Super Bowl on Saturday evening, 4 February at the
Perry Hall YMCA in Perry Hall, MD. We look forward to
seeing our region members and their families at this
unique event that features great slot car racing, terrific
chili, and some good old fashioned family fun. For the
past 25 years, Slot Car Night has been one of our Regions
great mid-winter traditions that everyone- bench racers,
slot car enthusiasts, and kids alike have enjoyed. The
evenings agenda will include individual races
and enduros for both adults and children, and all who
attend will get plenty of seat time on our course, which
is a miniature 1:32d scale version of Summit Point.
A special test track will be set up for the kids. And
there will be lots of trophies for our winners! So
start getting your cars ready! The Region will have
some loaners, but because this is such a long-standing
tradition, we recommend you bring your own 1:32d scale
car for this years event and the ones that will
follow. There are a ton of Porsche 1:32d scale cars
available at local hobby stores and the Internet, and
they make a perfect After Holiday Gift for this coming
Saturday night! For a cold night in February, chili
always hits the spot, and as in previous years, well
have a chili cook-off for those who come armed with
their crock pots and favorite recipes. The club will
provide hot dogs, and all those not bringing chili are
asked to bring a side dish or a dessert. Registration
is now open, and its cheap! $10 for families who
bring a pot of chili and $20 for families who bring
a side. Get on the web site and register today! Plan
on bringing the whole family at 5:00 PM on the 4th at
Perry Hall for food and racing! We look forward to seeing
you there!
