http://www.bavarianinnwv.com/Lunch-Menu-September-2011.pdf
Put the top down, pull out your favorite driving
cap or hat, and rub on a little sun tan lotion
as we are off to drive hill and dale through
areas of Maryland few of us may have ever seen
as we drive west along old Fredrick Road and
other county roads to our eventual destination.
But before we arrive in Shepherdstown, we are
in for a driving treat where we will drive to
and cross over the Potomac River at Harpers
Ferry! Awaiting us upon arrival is the Bavarian
Inn / Greystone Mansion that was originally
built upon a 12-acre estate in 1930 by Erwin
Asam and Yvonne Carol, both native born Germans
from Munich. The couple originally built it
as their private residence to overlook the Potomac
River. In 1962 the residence was converted to
the Inn you see today.
Just
in case you haven't already had German cuisine,
you are in for a real treat. After lunch, think
about a walk from the Inn to historic Shepherdstown
to see the many shops. Approximately a 15 minute
drive from the Inn is the Antietam Battlefield,
Charlestown Races and the Hollywood Casino.
You can also rent a bike and explore the C&O
Canal, or bring your clubs and Golf at a nearby
Private Club. For the more adventurous, there
is whitewater rafting. So please join us and
enjoy the company of your fellow club members.

The
PCA-Chesapeake Tech Committee is pleased to
announce an upcoming Tech Session! We hope you
will be able to join us at Porsche of Towson's
new Collision Center in Parkville, MD.
Robert Lettiere is the Collision Director and
manages the facility. Rob has a long career
working with Porsche and with the PCA. He ran
a big Porsche repair facility in Los Angeles,
prior to coming to Baltimore to establish this
operation. The Center has been certified for
BMW and Mini repairs, and is in the final stages
of certification for Porsche. This is a demanding
process since Porsche makes sure a shop has
the equipment, staff, and knowledge to produce
results that meet their exacting standards.
After touring the shop briefly and seeing many
Porsches, BMW's, and Mini's in various states
of repair, it's clear Rob's operation does great
work.
Rob
will provide some nice food at the Tech Session.
He'll also be giving away T-shirts, some jackets,
magazine subscriptions, and detail kits. And
he'll have a couple new 991's from Towson Porsche
for us to see.
RSVP (for # of T-shirts and food) by sending
and e-mail to Doug Ehmann at dougehmann@comcast.net,
or by calling 410-592-2962.
