Chesapeake Region invites all of its members and friends to celebrate the 41st annual Chesapeake Challenge, the oldest running multi-event weekend in PCA, on Saturday, October 16th, in Pasadena, Maryland. Following the successes of the last couple of years, for 2010 we are reprising last year’s extremely popular one day format, providing a full Saturday worth of activities that will offer tremendous value for your registration fee. This year's Challenge Concours d’Elegance and Car Show will be center stage at the Maryland Yacht Club located at 1500 Fairview Beach Road, Pasadena, MD 21122. http://www.mdyc.org The Yacht Club is situated on over eight acres of beautiful waterfront property at the end of Fairview Beach Road in Pasadena Maryland. It is located at the entrance to Rock Creek and commands a grand view of the Patapsco River on one side and Rock Creek on the opposite side.
This year your registration fee will include 4 events as well as a commemorative T-shirt. Additionally, the first 75 cars to register will receive a commemorative license plate. Your morning will begin by a choice of participating in the Challenge Concours or a People’s Choice car show. Competitors will stage on the waterfront property overlooking the beautiful Patapsco River. Lunch will be on your own at the Maryland Yacht Club, or at a location in the surrounding Pasadena area.
Saturday afternoon will find you and your Porsche enjoying a Gimmick Rally, which will wind its way around the delightful roads of Anne Arundel County. Chesapeake Gimmick Rallies are like tours with a unique set of instructions, so all who have enjoyed the region's tours in the past should be equally thrilled with this event. The Gimmick Rally will bring everyone back to the Maryland Yacht Club for drinks and hors d’oeuvres and participation in an optional Tech Bingo.
After the Tech bingo, enjoy an evening of socializing and a superb buffet dinner catered by the Maryland Yacht Club while the scores are tallied. Trophies will follow at around 7:15 PM, and we should conclude our exciting day not later than 9:00 PM. The cost for all of this fun is just simply $40 per person. $40 buys you great events, the opportunity to enjoy a waterfront view, beautiful cars and spend a lovely fall day with some of your favorite Porsche friends.
