Details: The first annual Chesapeake PCA Family Picnic will be held on May 22 from 3:00 pm til dark at the Susquehanna State Park in Harford County.
The park is located along the Susquehanna River valley and offers a wide variety of outdoor recreational opportunities including hiking, fishing and boating. History buffs will enjoy the restored Rock Run Historic Area with its working grist mill, the Archer Mansion, Jersey Toll House and the remains of the Susquehanna Tidewater Canal.
We have reserved shelter #2 for the family picnic. The pavilion has tables for up to 150 persons, grills and a modern restroom is nearby. A large playground is located within view of the pavilion. Large open fields close by are great for family games. A freshwater pond is on site and is ideal for the novice angler.
The club has reserved the pavilion for the entire day, so members may arrive early and enjoy all the amenities available at the park. Sack races, egg tosses and other fun games are being organized for children.
Hot dogs, hamburgers, rolls, beverages, condiments, paper products and ice will be provided by the Club. We ask that each family bring a salad or dessert to share as follows:
Salads - last name beginning A-M. Desserts: last name beginning letters N-Z;
Susequenna State Park is located three miles northwest of Havre de Grace off Route 155 in Harford County. The park is approximately 35 miles north of Baltimore. Take I-95 north or south to Route 155, exit 89. Proceed west on Route 155 to Route 161. Turn right on Route 161 and then right on Rock Run Road. Follow Rock Run Road to the Park.
