Info: The record snowfall in February forced us to cancel Slot Car Night, but it's hard to keep us away from this fun-filled event. The folks at Porsche of Annapolis graciously offered their service bay as the location for the resceduled Slot Car Night...Day. With the new venue comes a new time. Instead of an evening event, it will start at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 27 and run until around 3:00 pm. Setup will begin at 9:00 am, and volunteers to help us prepare would be greatly appreciated.

As in past years, we will start with the kids classes and then move on to the adult classes. This year we will have 1/32 scale classes for Scalextric, Fly, Modified, and Trucks. If you have another brand, we'll help you figure out how to classify your car. So pack up the family and your 1/32 scale slotcars and come to our annual indoor racing event.  There will be plenty of action, great racing, and trophies for the young winners.

We are anticipating the traditional famous Five Alarm Chesapeake Region Chili along with hot dogs and side dishes that participants bring. In order to eliminate the entry fee, we're asking everyone to bring something.  Chili, salads, and desserts are always popular, but if you are domestically challenged, then large bags of chips, pretzels or doritos, juice, two liter sodas, or water are other options.  When you register, please make sure to include an email or phone number so that the registrar can reach you.  Of course, no alcohol of any kind is allowed. When you  RSVP, tell us what you would like to bring, and we'll be okay as long as we don't have too many others already bringing the same thing. This way we won't have 40 bags of Doritos.

Also, for anyone needing parts for their Porsche, the parts counter will be open during this event.

Hope to see you there!

FAQ:

Are kids invited?
Of course! This is a family event. We just ask that the parents keep an eye on their kids as the slot car equipment is very expensive and you will be responsible to replace any parts that are broken.

Will trophies be awarded?
Yes, for the kids classes.

Are there kids and adults classes?
Yes, since the kids beat the adults so often, we've decided to give the adults a chance and put them in a separate class. This will make it easier to guarantee we have enough trophies for all the youngsters.

Which races will we have this year?
We'll have the usual elimination rounds and the Enduro will return with teams of four people with pit stops and driver changes. This year we will have a Modified class, so bring your budget-buster.

How much can I modify my slot car?
This year we are adding a modified class, which will include cars with ANY modifications. To run in the Scalectric, Fly, and Truck classes, you can only race a 100% bone stock car to include stock tires. No sticky tires, folks. The word of our Chief Steward and Chief Scrutineer will be final.

Where can I find out more?
You can read about last year's event.
