Lothian, MD – The Old South Country Club was host for the Chesapeake Fall rally. 20 Cars came for a spirited run through south Anne Arundel and Calvert counties. Rally team mapped out a course of 50+ miles to challenge the seasoned rally runners and entertain the many brand new members! We had a range of cars present from a 356 Speedster of Ab and Helen Tiedeman and the new Boxster-S from Porsche of Hunt Valley (driven By Tim and Kim Costa) present. At the conclusion of the Rally, the Club allowed the cars to park around the front ring of the club. As usual, we put on an impressive display!

14 of 20 teams stayed on for a catered lunch that was very delicious! Our only casualty was a heavy wind that blew a branch onto Bill Miles car during the running. But Bill turned bad luck into good as he and his wife Louise took 1st place in the rally! Bill edged out Russell and Norma Pettis by just 7 points by calculating their mileage to the exact tenth! While Russell and Norma found one more clue that Bill and Louise, it was the exact mileage that clinched the victory for Bill and Louise!

I would like to thank all those who came out on beautiful Fall Sunday to run the rally, the team of Steve Kinsley (Rally Master), Bill Miles (catering coordinator), and Ashley McHenry (sign maker) for making my first Rally and very successful and memorable one. I would also like to thank the Chesapeake Region for purchasing the plaques for today’s awards! We’ll see you at the next rally! Watch those signs and lawn ornaments!

Nicole Laurent – FPO award for Best Novice ! (Future Porsche Owner)
