President's Message

We couldn't have asked for a nicer day to end our 2008 tour season.  Winds picked up and temperatures dropped, but the sky was clear and the sun highlighted the beautiful fall colors of Maryland.  Expert Tourmeister Allen Gunzelman led a train of nearly 30 Porsches through scenic upper Baltimore County to Friendly Farm for a tasty lunch and fun conversation with fellow Porsche enthusiasts.  It's clear why this tour is so popular in our region.

And now it's time to think about 2009.  The first event of the new year is our annual After Holiday Party and Yankee Swap on January 10th at Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City.  Last year's event was a big hit, and I expect the same will be true this year.  For very reasonable price, you get an excellent meal and a chance to legitimately steal gifts.  If you haven't yet been to one of these parties, I highly recommend you join us.

The following weekend, on Saturday, January 17th, is our annual Super Slot Car Night.  This action-packed night of racing 1/32 scale slot cars is a family favorite with adult and child racing classes.  Super Slot Car Night is held at the Pinewood Elementary School in Timonium.

The Chesapeake Region Board plans to bring you another full schedule of events next year.  As you can imagine, this requires planning, which will be the focus of our Board meeting on January 21st.  If you've thought about helping to chair an event, then please join us for this meeting.  All members are welcome.

I wish you a Happy Holiday!  See you next year!

Andrew
