President's Message

Happy New Year!

The Chesapeake Region had a full calendar of events in 2008.  The main ingredient of these events is you, the region members.  Your participation has made the After Holiday Party, Super Slot Car night, the Crab Feast, Chesapeake Challenge, autocross, tours, tech sessions, driver's ed, and monthly socials a huge success.

The January monthly board meeting, scheduled for January 21st, is a planning meeting.  We'll be working on scheduling the calendar of events for 2009.  All of your favorites will return as well as some new ones that we hope will provide new ways for you to get the most out of your club.  This is the perfect time to get your feet wet and attend a board meeting.  You'll find that they're not stuffy - we save that for the day jobs.

Club events are not possible without the enthusiasm, hard work, and dedication of the Chesapeake Region board.  Adequate words expressing the depth of my gratitude for this outstanding group of people elude me.  Whether planning, promoting, or executing club functions, the Chesapeake Region board did it with professionalism, class, and a sense of humor.  In addition, they have been a tremendous source of support and advice, and a fun bunch with whom to work.  My sincere thanks to all.  I look forward to another great year in 2009!
