Spring Cozy Inn Tour

Time: We will meet between 9:00 and 10:00 am for a prompt 10:15 am departure time.

Where: We will gather in the parking lot of the Safeway in Sykesville, MD. Gas stations, Starbucks and restaurants are nearby. Directions below. [google map]

Bring: A full tank of gas, an appetite, $20.00 cash per person for the buffet, and a FRS or GMRS handheld radio (tuned to channel 7, subchannel 21) if you own one! It’s not a necessity to own a radio but it makes it easier for us to keep in contact. Gina and I picked up our radios at Costco for $75.00 which included 3 radios, charger base and earbuds.

Cost: $20 per person for the buffet.

From Baltimore:
Take I-70 WEST to Exit 80 RT-32 Sykesville. At the end of the exit ramp turn RIGHT on RT-32. Go straight when you reach the light at RT-26 Liberty Road then take the 2nd RIGHT on Londontown Blvd to the Safeway parking lot.
 
From Columbia/Annapolis:
Take RT-32 North to Sykesville. Go straight when you reach the light at RT-26 Liberty Road then take the 2nd RIGHT on Londontown Blvd to the Safeway parking lot.
 
From the DC/Frederick Area:
Take I-70 EAST to Exit 80 RT-32 Sykesville. Take a LEFT at the light at the end of the ramp on RT-30 North. Go straight when you reach the light at RT-26 Liberty Road then take the 2nd RIGHT on Londontown Blvd to the Safeway parking lot.

Route: This route will take us through northern Carroll & Frederick Counties. The scenery on this tour is breathtaking and the roads are demanding and exciting. We will stop and enjoy lunch at the historic Cozy Inn in Thurmont, MD. The unique Cozy, est. 1929, is the oldest established restaurant in the state of Maryland still operated by the founding family. The restaurant is excellent and the prices extremely reasonable. Cost per person for the meal at the Cozy Inn is $20.00 per person. Last year they prepared quite a spread for us and you can expect more of the same this year. Children’s rates are also available. Those wishing to continue the tour after lunch can follow the route back to I-70 in Mt. Airy.
